Woman of the Week ~ Anna Werner

Here at Executive Elements, we like to feature fantastic women we think you should know. Some of these women are clients, some are friends, some are women we’ve only just met. But they all have this in common: they are dynamic, interesting women who have agreed to share with us their insights and secrets to success.

My Name: Anna Werner

My Current Job/Company: Nursing Director at The University of Kansas Health System

My Work: With my counterpart, Betsy Wagner, I oversee 23 acute/progressive care inpatient nursing units. My time is spent supporting and developing Nurse Managers, working with teams to facilitate patient safety initiatives, collaborating with divisional leaders to manage and troubleshoot the challenges of day to day operations in a 800+ bed hospital.

My Passion: My faith, my family, my friends.

My Family: Jason (Incredibly Supportive Husband), Reagan (Bright and sweet Daughter- 9), Noah (Hilarious and lively Son – “almost 8”)

My Hero or Heroes: My parents. (Bob and Jan Coats married over 40 years). Amazing role models and beyond.

My Escape: The lake with my family and friends.

Pet Peeve: Negativity

My Indulgence: Candy of all kinds 😊 and Diet Coke

My Roots: Faith. Generosity. Humility. Grace. Family first. Lifelong friendships.

My Advice to Young Women: Have faith in yourself and surround yourself with strong mentors and positive influences.

How I Balance it All: Develop exceptional leaders around you. Prioritize.
