Woman of the Week ~ Margaret Meyer

Here at Executive Elements, we like to feature fantastic women we think you should know. Some of these women are clients, some are friends, and some are women we’ve only just met. But they all have this in common: they are dynamic, interesting women who have agreed to share with us their insights and secrets to success.

My Name: Margaret Meyer

My Current Job/Company: Senior Director, Client Services/Watermark Insights

My Work: Watermark is on a mission to help our partner institutions operate more strategically and effectively, to maximize the impact they have on their students and communities. At Watermark, I get to lead a team of wickedly smart and hardworking US and India based consultants that are responsible for all product implementation and post implementation engagements for our customers.

My Passion: Bringing the best out of people.

My Family: Evan (Husband of 11 years), Henry (9), Calvin (6), Everett (5)

My Hero or Heroes: My parents (Brad and Anne Hollenbach)

My Escape: 2000s hip hop and R&B music. I wish I was kidding.

My Pet Peeve: When someone has 4 different types of drinks on their desk and can’t seem to finish even one of them (coffee, seltzer water, diet soda, water…)…oh wait…..

My Indulgence: Buying snacks at the gas station next to the office. Most often flaming hot cheetos and/or sweet tarts.

My Roots: Small town in Northwest Ohio; Putnam County; Road 7. When I think about the village of folks who gave life to my dreams, the majority come from the 419 area code.

My Future: Learning how to be a better person every day from my mom; Dancing like nobody’s watching with my sister; (Pretending to know what I am doing when) golfing with my dad; Crushing big dreams with my boys

My Favorite Quote: When you know better, do better.

My Accessory: A loud (and somewhat obnoxious) laugh.

My Advice to Young Women: Make mistakes. Learn from them. Find the problem no one else is brave (or naive) enough to try to solve and solve it. And always overpay your babysitters.

How I Balance it All: If I am being honest, I don’t. But until then, I choose to surround myself with people who challenge my perspective, push me to do better, and make me laugh hard enough to cry.
