Woman of the Week – Kate Quinn

Here at Executive Elements, we like to feature fantastic women we think you should know. Some of these women are clients, some are friends, some are women we’ve only just met. But they all have this in common: they are dynamic, interesting women who have agreed to share with us their insights and secrets to success.

My Name:
Kate Brunner Quinn

My Current Job/Company:
Development Director/Girls on the Run of Central Ohio

My Work:
I raise funds so that no girl is ever turned away due to financial need from our life-changing, self-esteem building program; I literally get paid to raise money to build little girl’s self-esteem.

My Passion:
My family and children. Having grown up with foster siblings, I am passionate about making sure that all kids have access. I want all children to have the same opportunities as my own.

My Family:
Pat (High School Sweetheart/Husband), Maddy (Smart and Strong Daughter – 6), Drew (Hilarious Son – 3), and Nate “Nater Tater” (Sweetest Baby – 1).

My Hero or Heroes:
I really admire people who aren’t afraid to do what’s right for themselves or others without caring about what other people think.

My Escape:
Running. Yoga. Time with good friends and my family. Being near the water.

My Pet Peeve:
Cruelty and selfishness. Also drivers who don’t understand pedestrian rules.

My Indulgence:
I love wine. Specifically anything that sparkles. Bonus points if it’s on a patio.

My Roots:
Columbus born and raised. Family first. Always finding the joy in the every day.

My Future:
Busy, hectic, never as organized as I would like, but bright and full of love and laughter.

My Favorite Quote:
“You always know it’s the right thing when, in the end, there is peace. You are rewarded by peace in knowing that you did the right thing.” – Oprah Winfrey

My Accessory:
My phone (i.e. an extension of my brain). Baby wipes. Jokes.

My advice to Young Women:
Word hard and play hard. Do all of the things. Get involved. Stand up for yourself. Do what you know is right in your heart always. Love yourself – even when you don’t want to.

How I Balance it All:
Lists and scheduling. I can work and run my life from my smart phone. Everything is in a to do list or in google calendar. Also having a hands-on partner and tons of support is critical for me.
